Resting Metabolic Assessment

Think of this as a snapshot of your metabolism. Whether your goal is to lose weight or gain weight, it’s important to understand and conquer the calories in-calories out equation. This science based assessment takes out the guess work, and definitively answers the question of how many calories your body needs each day. Roughly 65% of our daily calories are burned by essential life processes (breathing, beating of the heart, bowel function, etc) which in essence makes up our resting metabolism. The remaining calories come from digestions, and activities associated with daily living.

From this assessment you can expect to learn:

  • How many calories your body needs on a daily basis. This is not an estimate based on some formula, it’s an actual number derived from the assessment process, which takes into account your unique metabolic makeup.
  • What calorie deficit is required to lose weight.
  • How many calories from exercise should be included in a balanced weight loss program.
  • How many calories are burned from fat vs how many are burned from carbohydrates.
  • How to strategically create nutrition and exercise plans based on objective data instead of ball-park estimates.

Exercise Assessment

Everyone’s body is different in the way it responds to exercise. Applying the same technology used in hospitals and Olympic training facilities, this assessment will enable you to find out what exercise intensity is optimal for your body when it comes to burning the most fat and calories at a sustainable level. Put more simply, at varying heart rates (think exercise intensity) we are burning both fat and sugar in variable ratios. This assessment, among other things–will tell you where your body is most efficient at burning fat. It will truly help you exercise smarter, rather than harder. Other things you can expect to learn:

  • Reports detailing your Peak VO2, aerobic base, fitness level and caloric burn rate.
  • Your body’s response to exercise and fitness level.
  • The correct exercise intensity to help achieve a variety of fitness goals; increase fat and calories expended, weight loss, improved cardiovascular health and enhanced athletic performance.
  • Customized plans for both aerobic and resistance training.
